Lol, that was one of my first thoughts; how many vulnerability exploits will be at the ready when this CPU gets fully released. This is perhaps the right time for humor, but it is of course not a laughing matter.

Remember back when some chipmakers tried to make us all believe that clock speeds weren't important?

... so 100 Mhz extra (or 2%), with basically same core and IPC.
At the same time, Zen 3 is rumored to have 10% extra IPC to Zen 2, and also clock higher by some 200-300 Mhz due to 7nm+ EUV process, for another 5-6%

And up to 16 cores, not just 10...

Ryzen 4000 Desktop CPU's will eat this Intel thing alive.

Well, there will be a few people who will buy it "but... but... it's faster in gaming !"
(actually, it won't be, but blind faith is strong with some people...)

Intel has a very unhealthy relationship with 14nm production node.
And an even unhealthier when dealing with reality.
By now I am numbed by sheer number of "smart"decision from their part.
Smartest decision ever was to sold my i5 6600K back in spring 2019.
Just winked to my 3700X and winked back. See, that's smart!

    Clock speeds are important.
For example, when CPU eats 125W at base clock of 3,7GHz, but has all core boost 4.8GHz. You know what you got there.

Remember when certain manufacturer did not want to give you extra cores, you needed?
Well, now you have i3 with 4C/8T and i7 with 8C/16T which is double from that time.

And then again, Atom's IPC tells you that clock without IPC is worthless metric.

I prefer console gaming with 0,5k if that's the new level of pc master race's hall of fame.

Hehe I just ordered parts to build a Ryzen 5 3700x system. I haven't forgotten that AMD brought mult-core into the mainstream, or that they're currently competing quite well with Intel. I was just having a poke at them a little :)

With all security patches, zen 3 is laughing hard at Intel. It's not even a "contest" anymore. :D:cool:
