Okay one more from the Intel front but that's it for today I promise Intel is now working on another multiplier-unlocked Sandy Bridge part this time from the Core i5 series namely the i5-2550K which...

It's just for sh!ts 'n giggles for Intel, and probably a binned i5-2500K.

they want to cover the gap between the 2500k and 2600k probably.

They can't cover the gap without HT and an extra 2MB L3 cache. It's just like the i7 2600k really as they are binning the same chips a little higher.

I'd rather have a higher multi or more cache than just 100mhz more in base clock and turbo speed!

Should have made it a I7-2550k, same speed as the 2500k but with HT and more cache.

uhm the base clock is the same... its still 100mhz. the multiplier is just 34 compared to 2500k of 33.

pricing gap not necesarely performance gap and besides if they would have made it with HT and extra 2mb l3 cache what would have been the point of buying the 2600k for 100-200 mhz more which you could easily overclock

edit: but then again i don't see why anyone would buy this when they can get the 2500k and overclock it, its like the 2600k and 2700k..not really worth the price difference to buy the 2700k .
