Last week we already posted some screenshots of a new Coffee lake Core i3 series core processor showing four cores. See, AMD is stirring up the market on every segment with a processor. The recent Ryz...

HT would've been nice, but for gaming its often not that beneficial, and obviously a real quad core in the i3 range is rather nice for budget setups.

Actual street prices will be interesting.

I had a feeling they wouldn't risk cannibalizing their i5 line.

These are current i5's just going a step down.
The fanboys will have to change their argument now to: "you just need an i3 for gaming"
We already know Intel is making i5 with 6 cores so I hope i7 with 8 cores?
EDIT: Nah, they'll just sell the i5 with HT enabled as an i7.

That's has been known for a while and coffee lake has been rumored to be 6 cores since end of last year when KBL was released.

Honestly an i3 now is not a bad CPU for gaming. In fact a KBL i3 is actually as good or better in some cases than your 2500k.

Hell a current i5 destoys my 2600k expecially when it is clocked close to 5Ghz.

    8300 is 4/8, but 8350K is 4-core without HT?

So new mainstream processors from Intel will look like that:

    i3 4/4
    i5 6/6
    i7 6/12

    There is also room for
    Pentium 2/4
    Celeron 2/2

That was just a rumour I assume the 8300 will also just be a 4 core without HT as well, least that's what I would assume anyway.

I'm glad to see this change, I wish it happened years ago like it really should have. But least it's happening, I wouldn't be surprised if next generation or the one after becomes like:

    I3- 4/8
    I5- 6/12
    I7- 8/16

Especially after zen2 comes out... competition is good :)

The problem is the price. You can have R5 for the price of an i5 and it's a better buy. Sure you might lose a couple top fps but on average you gain a hell of a work horse.

All i3 have HT disabled, those were rumours.

Intel should skip the no HT and locked processors BS.
I'm going Ryzen for my next build for sure.

Intel won't get a penny from me, at least for the nearest future.

AMD tired to Innovate, while Intel uses its bribery / anti technology / anti consumer / anti progress methods.

Recently made ryzen 1800x build for our office workstation, works fantastically for its value.

Planning to make my next home pc build with ryzen 1700, x370 taichi, and 16gb 3200mhz ram. Hopefully it will allow me to reach 4.0ghz.

It seems to actually be rather beneficial if you want a smooth experience. 7600K loses significantly to 7700K in that area frametimes are a mess.

Whats up with the naming 8350k? Sounds too much like 8350 lol. I am so not up to speed on current pc events lol.

6 real cores will likely out perform 4c/8t HT enabled CPU.

Those weren't rumors. Those were screenshots. Unless they were fake.
