Amazing cards for the market, if intel can slash the price more at 2024 black friday we can buy at last low-end and middle range cards for a resonable price.

Article has it wrong though: XeSS is not open-source, only source-code of loader stuff is available. The neural network is only provided in binary form.

Why is it trouble? A770 is clearly slower than last gen 6700xt in all games.

    Would choose a 7600 XT any day over a 16GB A770.

So this is where the AMD superfans go to when they need to feel good about their choices.

Intel could have potential if they improve the hardware in the future

Problem with Arc is it pretends to be a budget GPU option but it's actually a beta test product that you pay money for. Imagine some kid saving money for a year and then buying this unfinished product, where randomly in some game you may get 2x or 3x lower FPS than cards from Nvidia/AMD. I wish Intel all the best but I feel bad for people who buy this as their main and only GPU. This is cool for tinkerers who can afford to have 4 computers around the house. Arc has huge potential but it needs many more years to be ready for mainstream consumers.

You do realize that both NVIDIA and AMD started exactly as you describe Intel ?
Pray tell, do you know how much times takes to develop a GPU architecture and design it with scalability and future features roadmap?
Neither do I, but I am glad that someone tries to add something new to the table.
Be that Intel, or any manufacturer.

Another new game where A770 is slower than 3060.

Also slow in Dragon's Dogma 2:

Slow in Alone in the Dark:

Still stutter issues in Lords of the Fallen:

    Visual corruption in Outcast:

Slow af in Tale of two Sons Remaster:

It also has stronger titles, but the above is not an exhaustive list either. And now they allegedly have 1% market share in graphics card market. "We will fixes prices." my a**. As much as we would like a third competitor: Let's be real, Intel can't do it.

@aufkrawall2 For what it's worth, I got plenty of stuttering in Lords of the Fallen even with a 4090 no matter what I tried. It was one of the most unstable/messy experiences I've had. So I wouldn't hold that too strongly against Intel, that game is a disaster. I haven't tried it with an AMD card, I'm afraid my PC might explode or something if I try that.

Weren't 6800xt and 7800xt almost the same when 7800xt launched ? Why am I seeing 7800xt 23% faster in Dragon's Dogma 2 ? Was there some rdna3 specific driver that fixed it ? It looks like it's not getting any faster in comparison to 3080/4070 though..... rdna2 gimping then ?

There are also still new games that are a bit faster on the 6800 XT vs. 7800 XT, this one is more like an outlier.
