Intel has got to offer a board with PCIe 4.0 for me to upgrade. My i7-4770k and GTX 1080 play everything I throw at them at 1440p (even with 8GB of RAM). The only thing I don't have are the native slots and PCIe bus speed necessary to support the newest SSDs.

Going AMD next time around is looking better and better everyday.

    Surely on 14nm, 65W for a 5ghz+, 10 core seems like fantasy?

    Who cares about TDP?

My 3900x says 105w TDP. Using 160w on stock in cinebench....

I care about performance, not TDP...

Lots of people care about TDP for various reasons.

My concern here is the accuracy of the leak. If one column is wrong, it casts doubt on the rest of it.

Really? What performance difference did you find between 3900x and 9900k for BFV at 3440x1440? (If you have min/avg/max FPS for both I mean).

(not saying I don't believe you - i know the 9900K is slightly faster, but not the massive difference that the reviewers 720P or 1080P tests produce.)

Well, this is really disappointing. I need to upgrade and I've been eyeing the 3900x. At this point, I'd rather spend more to have a longer lasting platform. I was hoping Intel would have more of an answer to that chip than adding 2 cores and a light frequency bump to the 9900k. I guess I'll wait and see how prices turn out, but if they match the current chips, it seems like the 3900x would likely remain viable for longer...
