    Considering how much crap everyone has given Microsoft over the past few years due to the way windows update works, many of you might find this interesting. Talk is cheap though. Lets see how it actually changes.

    Pretty sure you could disable auto updates since day 1. Just needed a couple of extra clicks to get to the option.

    Neither of my laptops running Windows 10 Home give any option to disable auto-update that I've found. My desktops running Windows 10 Pro, however, do....

    Yep. You can permanently disable auto updates on Pro, in the "Group Policy Editor".
    Editing the registry should work on everything else. ( tho i was mainly referring to Pro )

    I just set my internet connection as a metered one (long ago).
