I still haven't seen a reason why you would want to use any other version but 2.2.6 shipped with Siege etc., all later versions once again give me stronger smearing artifacts in both Doom Eternal and Fortnite. See my post here with screenshots: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/n...ownload-discussion.439116/page-9#post-5939327

Nvidia should do research why it smears less than other versions and further improve the situation. I really don't care if some other version produces slightly less aliased results or is 1% faster, the smearing is annoying and I want it to be gone for good.

Well, you can set every game you play to 2.2.6 with this :)

DLSS 2.3.1 is out. I just tested in RDR2 where it provides +2% performance for me.

Also, there is a noticeable increase in clarity/sharpness for closer obects. Far away object, actually I would prefer a bit more blur but on balance, I prefer the difference.

IMHO, this thread is worthy of a sticky. DLSS swapper is really an essential tool for RTX owners, especially us Gurus.

2.3.0 and 2.3.1 produce visible smearning for me in CP2077, IMO 2.2.11 is still the most balanced in term of smearing/clarity.

I wonder if future games that ship with 2.3.x would bring noticeable improvement like 2.2.x did

What DLSS quality setting are you using in CP2077? I wonder if it makes a difference to how each version of DLSS behaves? I'm using the Quality setting in RDR2.

It happens with every quality mode, here is CP2077 4K DLSS Quality ver 2.3.1
    cp2077.png

I have never seen 2.2.11 break apart like this, 2.2.11 is pretty much the go to version for me

Weird, I found 2.2.11 to fail poorly in Doom Eternal with "smearing tree of doom" in the first level. Now with recent drivers (496.13), 2.2.11 seems to look like 2.2.6 (much better). I'll check again to be extra sure though.
2.3.1 on the other hand again looks clearly worse. Why is it not simply newer = better...

This is talked in a thread called nvidia show signs and we are swapping dlss files in warzone for some time. Im used to 2.3.0 and try 2.3.1 but things are more clear in 2.3.0 version

It seems to be really hit & miss with each version. I think they've reduced smearing with Doom Eternal's default 2.1.66, but it's still worse than 2.2.6 or 2.2.11 with recent driver. 2.3.0 also is worse than 2.2.6/2.2.11. 2.2.18 smears like total garbage.

Now question is: Do all games behave similarly with the different versions (and drivers/NGX profile updates) or not?

The only game I have with DLSS is RDR2 and I've never seen smearing, especially something as bad as Krizby showed.

Never saw this with -> White Collie 2
Very noticable/visible in Control, especially in cut scenes (same as in Your pic.).
Collie 2 is best so far for me....

I found that the image quality with White Collie 2 to be not very good, and it break apart sometimes too, like the checkerboarding pattern on the MC in Control here
    https://imgsli.com/NzY3Mzg

Notice how the posters look better with 2.2.11
Just tested with the latest 496.13 driver, it was the same with 472.12

I have played with 2.2.11 extensively (CP2077, WD Legion, Doom Eternal, Death Stranding, The Ascent) and I found that most of the time, 4K DLSS Balanced with Sharpen+ actually look better than 4K Native, and this is after pixel peeping in all of those games :D

Like I said, it's not good in at least Doom Eternal. Last good version there (with recent driver/NGX profiles) is 2.2.15. 2.2.6, 2.2.11 and 2.2.15 look identical to me in this game in terms of smearing artifacts around dark objects.
I also gave White Collie 1 & 2 a try, they also show more smearing than 2.2.6, 2.2.11 and 2.2.15.

I also found out that in Fortnite, 2.2.11 and 2.2.15 sometimes show bright outline corruption around certain objects (e.g. hilly terrain in the distance). Afaict, 2.2.6 doesn't have this issue here.

@Krizby Have you already tried 2.2.15 with 496.13 driver in other games than Control?

I have tried 2.2.15, 2.2.16, 2.2.18 in WD Legion and they all have more smearing than 2.2.11, this was with driver 472.12

It could be interesting if you download the SDK and try out some parameter with DLSS like Disable/Enable Sharpening and Enable Auto Exposure (reduce ghosting), there is a watermark with the SDK though

I overlooked 2.2.16, as it isn't listed in the changelog of TPU. However, I just gave it a try in Doom Et. and, like 2.2.18, this version is already borked regarding smearing.
