So does anyone else want this thread closed?
Gee please dont flame me, it'll hurt my feelings dearly. Seriously tho i relisenot all americas like bush and are war mongerers its a pity ur leadership is like this, btw ppl im actually american tho at this time i prefer to call myself a kiwi. Sorry to everyone I offened and for being off topic, its great your back !!!
Lock this, this is going nowhere.
Okay people now I want my thread closed. I'm going to start an new one about roses and daisies, if that, to goes off topic, maybe into the world of porn then we're all doomed!
Ok, I'm (unfortunately) still in the war. (Ya, they sent my ass back. But i got a sat connection this time) I have noticed some really skewed points on both sides of this argument.
#1. The reason more Americans are dying after the war than during it is because we have no discernable enemy. We are trying to build trust with the civillians of this country, but the attackers are hiding among them. We are not allowed to be free with our weapons. When is the last time a news flash showed a U.S. soldier killed an Iraqi militant? No you see a car bomb and rockets going off in Baghdad. Vietnam all over again.
#2. Not everyone here is for the war. I am personally very much against it, but I have little choice because I have a family to support and can't afford to get kicked out. Most of the people I know would give thier right nut to be sitting in thier house instead of this dust ridden hell hole.
#3. Iraq had almost NO military force to speak of when we came in. We took out thier communication and wiped out thier heirarchy in one fell blow. It wasn't a massacre, it was a joke. There were civillians who were killed during that inital attack. But there have been more Iraqi deaths due to Iraqi attack on Americans than we ever had.
#4. No wmd. This is touchy cause I can't really say anything specific, but i have laid eyes on things that never made it to the media. I'll leave it at that.
#5. We have no business being here. The weaponry in this country was of no threat to America. Europe maybe, but not us. I'm tired of being the world police. Let something big happen to someone else cause we did nothing and when they beg for help, give em money instead of troops like they do us. I'm sure oil had some play in this war, but it doesn't matter now. Iraq needs a government. Let the UN come here and set it up since they don't want us to. Let them be the target of terrorist attacks for a few years and see what decision they come to.
#6. This post was about someone returning home. Welcome him back and quit bashing each other.
WELCOME BACK MAN. HAVE A COLD ONE FOR ME
Thanks Damian, My budweiser is on ice ;-)
EDIT> This post was negetive but I think it better to leave it where it was.
I rekon a page welcoming back forum member from war would be real cool, coz although im against the war they still fought for their country and did their jobs, you guys are heros WELCOME BACK!
at least 1 place where we can all agree, its a good thing suddam is gone... after that i'm sure we're all divided on the issues.
so lets celebrate his leave...
suddam reminds me of the "brave sir robin" song from monty python, "how when danger was near, brave sir robin ran away."
just like suddam... what ever happened to the old man anyways?
