If you had the money, what movie would you make out of a game?

If I EVER got rich or won the lottery, it would have to be Half-Life....

It would be a very high budget movie, £200 000 000 or more, there will be no cgi just 100% special effects....

It will be the movie of the century & never forgotten...

Every part of the original 1998 half life game will be in the movie, every stage, every enemy and every gun...

Even if it's a 3-4 hour long movie, it will keep the audience seated and anticipating what will happen next, especially for those who haven't played the game.

It will start off in the tram, with the credits rolling, followed by the teleport machine failure and ending with Gordan Freeman destroying Nihilanth, going back in the tram & greeted by the famous G-man and given his choice either to stay in the train and fight or walk through the teleporter...

What do you guys think? What game would you like to see properly & professionally made make it to the cinema?

 

Well, i dont think the games plot is made for a full feature movie... i mean, the protagonist doesnt even speak.

If i had the money, i would go back in time and stop the Max Payne movie production for good... and never ever try to make a movie out of this masterpiece of a game.

If i had a little less money, i would hire Assassins to kill Uwe Boll... or Ninjas, depends on whos cheaper.

Well, i guess i wouldnt try to make a totally awesome blockbuster AAA cinema expericence out of a game... since, like you know, it goes horribly wrong most of the time.

 

Yeah, max payne would be a great game to make a movie out of, especially the first one.

They did make a max payne movie which I did see but it was so $hit, no action, boring and different story....

It didn't have that cold/dark presence which the game had, dual hand gun fights, gun fights in bars, etc...

Even the movie hitman was batter, it at least had some parts of the game in the movie, even though it wasn't all that good either.

If I had the money I'd make 3DCG animated movie. Still waiting on the Fatal Frame movie, but I'm sure that has been scrapped already.
I'd like to see a Dead Space movie, but I know it's going to flop like Doom...

Same for HL.

Would love to see COD4 onscreen, i still like to play it once in a while. The story is not so over the top like MW2 or Blops.

Also, the funny characters of Bad Company 1 would make a great movie.

 

Legend of Zelda: OOT and Majora's Mask.
The movies wouldn't follow the plots perfectly of course.
The OOT movie would be a bit more Ocarina based, IE it would double as a weapon, even if hardcore zelda enthusiast don't like it.

Majora's mask would already make a damn nice movie. The story and gameplay would just work, i bought a new in box n64 controller for $2 at a garage sale and USB/N64 controller adapter on ebay for $10 just so i could replay them on a PC emulator.

 

The Witcher series.

 

the witcher books, games arent so attractive for a film IMO.

If done properly (and by properly I mean LOTR levels of effort) I'd like to see the Mass Effect trilogy made into movies. I'd also love some more FF7 based animations, Advent Children was amazing (though I think it catered heavily to fans rather than potential newcomers), as was The Last Order OVA.
