Ie8 -ssslllooowwwww?

Does anyone else find IE8 really slow?

I can sit there and watch the wheel spin while it finds and loads new pages.

It was faster using Mosaic pre-Netscape in 1993.

What's up?

 

From what I hear, its a memory hog.

 

Is it at the default settings?

Is it always slow or has it just gotten slow recently?

 

I haven't noticed any slowdowns yet after surfing for 30 minutes or so. IE8 opens a new process for each tab though and I have some problems when opening new tabs via Links (browser crashes sometimes).

Me either, but that's prob cause I use Firefox

 

I've used IE8 on and off...I've had nearly no problems with it at all.

 

anyone else get instant fail with the 64bit?

Just take a note that IE8 RC1 may not work in Windows 7.

 

IE8 is already included in Win7

 

It is, but not the newest RC version. Instead, beta of IE8 is included in W7 beta.

vista i.e8 is a bit iffy

but in windows 7 wow its great so far.

 

Slight offtopic:
do you guys know if it's possible/how to create profiles for IE8(or even IE7)?
in firefox 3 it's very easy and convenient - just run with -profilemanager command.
it's one of the reasons why I use FF3 since I am not the only one using the same PC.
