    Hi.
Ive got a stable clock at 4ghz@1.2v that im very happy about.. the only thing that worries me is the temp.. something is up there.. ive got a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 cooler on it. The only thing is that my BIOS Hardware monitor shows me around 47 degrees on the CPU, but windows shows me a 32 degrees idle and 52 load. witch one do i trust? also should i leave speedstep on or off to not have the cpu running 4ghz at all time?

Trust windows also your top limit is 100c so your temps are good.

Most people disabled speedstep because it "may" interfere with overclocking.

I would use RealTemp for reading your temps. The BIOS only reads your overall CPU temp whereas RealTemp reads your individual core temps.

As for speedstep, I have it off, but you could try it on. If it's not stable, turn it back off :). I read some mobo's need it on for Turbo mode to work, though.

RealTemp or Core Temp are both good for your requirements.

Well it aint interfering with my OC as i can se now.. on idle the cpu is chilling at 2.4ghz and when i stress tested it, it went up to blazing 4ghz and ran there for 6 houres without any issues.

Thanx for the replay DSK :p

hmm.. even with speedstep of the multiplier goes down to x12 @ 2.4ghz in idle.. is there a other option in the bios that does this? Its a Asus P6T SE mobo.
