I play games with V-sync enabled, i just hope the last beta drivers can fix this.
Please share your opinion, i really don't know what to do... i think to buy an hd 7970 too...

Some say it's fixed, for others it isn't. ManuelG said they're working on it and a few members here have sent a lot of information about it.

If you play with VSYNC wait for other members' confirmation that the bug is fixed. The 304.48 contains an adjustment which improves the situation but does not resolve the problem in many titles.

Nvidia claimed the problem was difficult to reproduce. If that's true, then you might not even notice it.

I personally did not find the v-sync stuttering that bad with the pre-R302/R304 drivers - in fact, had I not read about it then subsequently looked for it then I honestly wouldn't have noticed it at all. Once I knew about it then I knew what to look for and did notice it in a few games, e.g. Assassin's Creed II, but the issue seems to be pretty much gone now.

The problem I believe was caused by the framerate dipping from 60 fps to 54/55 fps every 20-30 seconds or so but that has now been fixed. I still see the framerate fluctuating between 60 and 59 fps every few seconds but I've put that down to how Afterburner reports the framerate (i.e. rounding algorithms) as this does not appear to cause stutter. I believe I saw the same 60-59 fps behaviour on my GTX 580 too.

Hey Darren. I have been still working with nVidia on the issue. While the fix in 304 has minimized the issue in several games, there are still many that are afflicted by the problem. For instance, while Mass Effect 3, Skyrim and AC2 have had their VSYNC performance improved by a fair margin, RAGE, SHOGUN and Civ 5 all have terrible stuttering problems still.

I really hope they don't have to go through and tweak VSYNC for every game now that I guess it is on the software level? who knows? I certainly hope not.

I just don't understand why this issue wasn't fixed ages ago. I mean v-sync has been around for years, as long as I've been playing PC games (1998 onwards), but yet since the release of the 600 series cards from NVIDIA it's like it's some complicated issue that they're having problems resolving.

What makes it so difficult to fix it 100% on the 600 cards? It is because of the hardware GPU Boost feature, because that's the only thing I can think of that the 600 cards have that the earlier NVIDIA cards didn't. AMD graphics cards don't have this v-sync stutter so it's more than a bit embarrassing that the issue exists on NVIDIA's latest and greatest cards.

I'm beginning to think that this is a hardware flaw that NVIDIA cannot fix 100% and so they're trying to minimise it as much as possible via software, i..e the driver. If it really was a driver/software issue then this issue would have been fixed for good months ago.

There's nothing to affraid. No stutterings here at all...

All those stutters depends from video driver or the heating/not fully supported HardWare as PSU and so on...

    Hmmmmm.... Buy 7970? Let's see...

    bad drivers
    7970 weaker 10-15 then GTX 670 hmmmm...

Guys, screaming here. Fix this or that immideatly is a very hard work in development process... Chill out and just leave ur feedback as much as you can. This will help NOT ONLY YOU, but others gamers especially... Just be honest and do what u like for gaming!!!

I don't know but it's frustrating to not be to VSYNC even very old games at 60fps when you can do so with much lesser cards. Even my junk 8500GT can play some of these titles at 60fps and 680 can't it's inexcusable.

Right, you have a 500 series GPU seems to affect 600s and the OP is specifically asking about GTX 670.

My 680 stutters with 304.79 in MP3, BF3, COD MW3 but runs fine with 304.48, I think it's the Win8 unification personally. It has nothing to do with the PSU or heat as mine is water cooled and never breaks 40c - 304.79 is the first driver set I've had this issue with.

Look at the poll in NV section a vast majority of people don't have this problem

Never really noticed it much. However I have come from a dual gpu solution, and every game feels super smooth to me now.

Almost 20% of people in that poll stated they are dissatisfied that is pretty significant. nVidia have acknowledged this as an issue and published a fix in 304.48 release notes so the problem is real.

They have also commented and reproduced the problems in my bug report since the release of 304.79 so many of my claims are legitimate. Some games have problems still after 304.48 and they need adjusting with VSYNC. Not all of them..but many of them.

It's up to you how 'serious' the issue is or whether or not you notice it or care

For me I do hehe :bang:

    Attitude not necessary.

4 of them said they are not satisfied but patient and 1 said they regretted purchase. I stated not satisfied but patient as I am helping them actively solve the problem with bug reports. That's 5 which is 18.5% of your [albeit small] sample which is significant as I said.

Were this an isolated incident, I would be the only one reporting it.. and there also wouldn't be any acknowledgement from nVidia which there is.
