i have a question about hard drives

    ok here is my question i have a 250 gig sata hard drive (maxtor) i wanted to know could i master ,slave 2 hard drives on the ide channel without causing any conflicts because i wanted to use those 2 to store my software and movies on, is it possible? and how do i format them?

    Yeah shouldn't be a problem. You should be able to because I believe they run on completely different controllers. Give it a try, nothing bad can result from you trying it, it will let you know if it works or not. =)

    Make sure the drives are both jumpered to CS.

    Then format the new HDD by R. Clicking its icon and selecting Format from the menu.

    You may have to go into the Control Panel> Admin Tools> Computer Management> Storage to find it at first, but assign it and you will be set.

    A proper Master-Slave setup should work as well as (or better than) a Cable-Select setup.

    Make sure your bios is set to boot from SATA HD, not from IDE. It might be set to automatically detect or something like that.
