So the Bulgarian economy brought me to mah knees. Now I'm one of the common men and gonna be workin' in the beer factory. Day-night shifts, but the good thing is am gettin' crap load of beer at the end of every month.
I was about to get job in a small computer hardware store but believe it or not the wage there is a lot less. So yeah to the beer factory and beyond... we drinkin' one bottle at the time...

I worked at a Scottish and Newcastle brewery warehouse for a few weeks in the 70s. I was pissed everyday, still have fond memories of that place.

It is not easy. You are both correct. It's real actual nightmare. The only stable E. European country at the moment is the Russian Federation. You go there let's say Moscow all you have to do is snap with fingers and it's all jobs, job trees with little jobies growing on them :D Seen desperate immigrants there with no education to refuse 2000USD job and they are right the prices are really high there.
But anyway rest of Eastern Europe should not even exist, it's just struggle for the people here.

tell me about it. I visited my parents in Slovakia last October and I was shocked at how bad things are. People work for 350 EUR a month. Fuel costs 1.4 EUR a litre, your TV breaks, it's going to cost you 300 EUR. Some things are "cheap" compared to the western world, like services, food and some every day things, but the "luxuries" cost just the same as they do over here in the UK, in fact, even more because the market in the UK for example is so much more saturated than in Slovakia and everyone is undercutting the competition, resulting in better prices for the end customer.

Happy for you man. Just don't drink all that beer :)

EDIT: I have nice memories of a couple of holidays our family had in Bulgaria when I was a kid... mid 80s it was, I think. Loved that place. :)

I had no idea about the situation in Russia. Most of my russian friends are not saying this. I only want happiness for everyone.

The sad reality of computing these days. Everybody who can reinstall Windows and can Google the rest instantly considers himself a guru so the job market is greatly saturated and monies are as bad as they can be. I'm holding on to my current job but almost every day I see financial statements of customers and find that some unskilled laborers are making more than I do... leaves me wondering.

You did what you have to. Now hold on to it
