A new Project I.G.I.
I loved the original.
!!!! Oh hell yeah! It was the perfect 'stealth until caught then kill everyone' fps back then. Also played the 2nd title a bit but the open world was a bit overwhelming. And it was quite challenging at times.
Can't wait for the new one. Could become the next SplinterCell if they do it right.
It still counts as Stealth if everyone is dead.
The title is currently in development for PC, Xbox One and PS4, and scheduled for global release in 2021.
Developed by Antimatter Games in Cornwall, the studio who are known as the shooter specialists behind Rising Storm and Red Orchestra, I.G.I. Origins is set in an alternate 1980s where Cold War spy conflicts take center stage with cinematic flair. Featuring signature gunplay with tactical realism as well as stealth, gadgets, and a focus on narrative, I.G.I. Origins puts the player in the role of a male or female super spy with MI6. Players will go on a high-stakes thrill ride across the globe in settings with an iconic 80s look and feel, with a do-or-die chance to redeem their reputation as a secret agent—and to save the world.
As a prequel to the beloved games from 2000 and 2003 that were well-known for their stealth action, open maps and hellish difficulty, the new game will allow fans to explore the origins of some of the characters and organizations from the originals.
“The teams at Toadman and Antimatter has fond memories of playing the original games back in the day,” says Robin Flodin, CEO of Toadman Interactive. “We are very happy to bring take the franchise to the next level, and it’s a perfect fit for the talented guys at Antimatter Games, a key studio in the Toadman group.”
The game is in development for both console and PC platforms and the new teaser trailer released today can be viewed here.
More information on the game will be revealed in the coming months. To keep in touch with I.G.I. Origins and sign up for the newsletter, visit the official site at igithegame.com.
Perhaps could merge.
Oh that was a great game back in the day.
Never played through it but it was a perfect stealth game, with a little bit more on the action side than Splintercell used to be.
't Was not bad in the day. Bit cringy, edgy boy-operator like many of the late '90 era. I didn't like the cutscenes and voiceacting, but in reality I think that's just me getting old.
Gameplay was decent though. At that age ( 14-16 I think ) I didn't get the concept of completing a mission without killing absolutely everyone ^^.
what your supposed to grow out of wanting to kill everything in games?
One of the first games i played on the PC. Cant wait.
Good question. The great thing about computer games is that you can try out things you'd never do in RL.
By now been gaming since the 80ies and maybe that's why i try to roleplay things ingame how i would do them in RL. Maybe that's a common thing amongst older gamers.
yea i kill everything i can in every game i can and blow up the rest even in the sims i look to murder people.
i figured that was normal .
