I dont get it, is this a replacement for Rivatuner?

    sorry if this is a dumb question,
    is MSI Afterburner the new version of Rivatuner?
    can it work with non-MSI cards too?

    i see Rivatuner no longer updates since v2.24, and new 5xxx series ATI cards are out for a long time.

    do we need to switch to MSI Afterburner now?

    Yes, have patience. RivaTuner is Unwinder's free hobby and Afterburner and Precision his payed hobby. :)
    When he'll have some time to spare I'm pretty sure that RivaTuner will reborn like Phoenix bird.

    cool, thanks for the infos.
    so for right now, ok to stick with rivatuner for ati 4850 series cards?
    i await patiently the new rivatuner releases. :)

    Depends on your depth of use.

    If you want to OC your card, get the graphing and monitoring, fan control, and use a simpler application; Afterburner is excellent.

    The fan profiles are quite a bit easier to set up in AB versus RT, imo.

    Afterburner is extremely useful; minus the 3D control. :p
