Crytek has announced that its competitive first-person PvP bounty hunting game with heavy PvE elements, Hunt: Showdown, is now available on Steam Early Access.... Hunt Showdown Early Access is now available on Steam EA
According to the majority of reviews in its current state - a beautiful buggy mess with very small amounts of players for its scale.
Lol it just got released. How many players do you think there are if you just learned about it? It's in pre-release actually so they are still working the kinks out. Most reviews are positive and complaints seem to be server complaints, how rare, and bugs, gee in a pre release bugs, really? The concept seems to be fresh, hunt down monsters with a partner, if you die you are done no more lives. After killing all monsters you then have to make it out alive with your bounty. It then turns into you vs the other bounty hunters that made it through the whole game alive. So that means you are surviving against the best players. Nice twist. I love the trolling, never a positive thing to say.
I'm just pissed that they don't have the support for proper multi-GPU! I look back at all crytek games and they thrived on multi-GPU configurations. Even dual card setups are struggling with this title. Still wish the GPU companies didn't kill off multi card config because in games theft still support it I'm rocking 4k with most settings maxed out. Perfect example of one game getting shat on would be the witcher 3!! Played that game upon release in 4k DSR with near perfect scaling on four GPU's to only attempt to play the game a year or so later (after information on dual card support only) the game runs so poorly i never finished playing it.... Bought it for $19 a couple months ago for my X and I'm loving it all over once again....!!
Looks fun. I like the swampy environment. Bounty Hunters facing off after the co-op? That's quite a twist on the survival genre. I'll definitely try it.
If PUBG is anything to go by, this game will also be ruined by cheaters. I just wish they would build in some cheat protection into the Cry engine. Because atm it's non existent.
game does look quite fresh...original enough to pique my interest despite despising battle royal et al i believe he meant that a lot of people are complaining about the size of the games themselves - 10 players on a relatively large map. i would assume the people displeased by this are used to the shitshow of rust or PUBG, & are looking for run&gun rather than cold tactics.
