lol, i dont wanna get to happy, because its not 100% proof, but if it is than yay! aliens!!!! wooohoooO!!!
OMG!!! This was just on a Dutch newsreport (I'm from The Netherlands FYI). NASA thinks that the water is coming from the ground, but they are 99% sure that it is flowing water.
Yeah, but there could of been life anyways, whats to say that the life forms on mars needs water anyways?
well, maybe anything is possible, especially in other worlds. But the science we know today, requires water to produce life.
Actually you don't need water for life GODzillaSDM. There is bacteria deep in caves that actually receieve all the nutrition they need from stone and minerals. These same types of bacteria could live on asteroids in deep space or on Mars, or on the Moon for that matter.
Yep but these same microorganisms do contain water. There is no life on earth that does not contain water. Viruses consist of dna surrounded by a protein membrane, but are not considered "true life" as replication cannot occur by itself, requiring instead hijacked host cells. Water on Mars though, hopefully this will get the space exploration ball rolling again....as an alternative to spending money blowing each other up.
I still think that we are going to carpet bomb Mars with nukes if they see anything living there... mark my word on it...
Its not so much water as a mudslide. What happens is that once the water is exposed to the extreme cold of the martian air it freezes. However, its still a good indicator of underground water activity.
At the press conference on tv a NASA scientist stated that the amount of water found in the 2nd pic i've posted is equal to 5 large swimming pools.
