We're long overdue binding legislation that forces all companies to detail exactly what data they are receiving at their end - and provide an additional copy that into to the user. Of course, that would only be a small token gesture...disassembling the code might be fruitful. OS's could help more too. I'm sure my smart toilet roll is sending stuff back!!

This probably falls foul of the European data collection Laws...

Seems like everybody wants a piece of the cake.
Where are the times when someone just entered the store, cash in hand and bought toner or ink cartridges?
No, we want your unborn children, all of your data and a signed affidavit.
Wait, only terrorist use cash. Of my, how can I say such things.

Up until now EU is slow to respond on privacy matters and GDPR is a huge mess.
We need faster law enforcement and way more painful fines.

Nice. So, they have data from quite a few private networks.

Wait, there is no such thing as private if there is no privacy.

And I thought HP was paid for their products and had no need to turn its clients into products for sale.

Cartridges are their bread and butter. Its why some printer companies sell their low end machines at or below cost, just to make money on printer supplies.

Soon as 1 takes the piss and gets away with it they all do it.

Without asking if you want to sign up for a procreating store card.
No I Dont Want A Fecking Store Card, I Just Want To Buy A Pack Of Fecking Durex So I Can Fecking Well Get Laid.

Stop With All This Club/Loyalty Card Crap. You Dont Do crap Unless You Make A Profit Out Of Something So Stop Pretending This Is All About Me, Its About You Trying To Squeeze Every Penny You Can Out Of Me Hoping Im A Brainless Feckwit Who Doesnt Know Bullcrap When They See It.

Stop Asking Me To Fill Out Customer Surveys, If I Am Unhappy About Something You Will Fecking Well Know About It.

No I Dont Want To Write A Fecking Review Either, Unless You Fecking Well Pay Me.

Give me your first born and all of your personal details and i might think abut giving you mine motherfecker.

Fast food places only do 2 size cups for drinks/milkshakes, Regular and Large. If large is larger than the regular then the Regular Is The Small One.

I need tea and a fag to calm down from that rant :D

i can buy all 3 color cartridges for my hp printer for around 30$cad delivered, if i was to go out to walmart or any local store and buy the hp cartridge its 30-35$cad for each color it is literally 1/3 the cost to get aftermarket ink.

Most of the info gathered doesn't bother me but to have my actual home address aswell is too much info in 1 place, if they get hacked with that much info the darker side of the pc community would have a field day cloning and feckin up lives, I'm glad I don't need a printer n mostly read guru3d on my phone do one HP

I used to work for an automation company and we built many systems for HP to assemble ink jet cartridges. They have proven to be the worst customers I have ever worked with. EVER. Over the years I have worked with/for seven of the top ten semiconductor companies and have participated in over one thousand installed systems and they are easily the worst. A few individuals at other companies were jackasses too but as a company, none were worse than HP.

When you do a project for them they send you enough binders full of specifications to fill two shelves and that's only the procedures, not the specs for the actual project. The worst part about that is they didn't follow their own specs. Here is just one example: everything we did was supposed to have the design approved before construction and assembly began. When asking for approval of a design we frequently heard, "I won't know if I like until I see it." WTAF??? Then there was the dogshit software framework we were required to use and the list goes on and on.... I have zero respect for that company and I refuse to buy any of their products.

I can't tell you how happy I am to be not working with the semiconductor industry any more. I am sick to death of wearing clean room suits. Now I just have to deal with a hard hat and ear plugs. It's a huge improvement as far as I am concerned.

How else are they supposed to know exactly how many sheets you use, and how often you wipe? Just wait, soon they'll be able to send you the results of your stool samples as you wipe.....
