My HD (-ready, thus 720p) tv is connected to the HDMI input of the 8800GTX videocard in my HTPC, through DVI>HDMI adapter.
I never paid attention to it before, thinking that only one refresh rate was possible (it was at 60Hz), but now I noticed that I can choose between 50 and 60Hz (no other values possible).
Does it matter how I set it ? Should I use the highest value, just like with a pc monitor or are there other things that are of importance ?

60hrz is better then 50 it gives you a more free flowing picture. 60hrz is also the standard for most lcd pc displays.

Don't do anything above 60Hz, it will damage your TV.
