    Hello,

can someone tell me how to run 2 8800GT in SLI Mode, when using a Mainboard with Intel Chipset? (Gigabyte 965P-DS3P, Intel P965 Express Chipset)

Do I need modded Drivers? Where to get them?
Tomorow the second card will arrive.

    Thank you.

    Errr... Bad News, you can't!!

I think you might want to send that 2nd GPU back, your board only supports ATI Crossfire it DOES NOT SUPPORT NVIDIA SLI USING 2 CARDS! The only way to get Nvidia SLI is buy a single card with 2 GPU's on it like the GTX295!!

The manual for your board does not even mention SLI or Crossfire but Gigabytes site states only Crossfire:
    See here: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ProductID=2455

Also, the 2nd PCI-E_16 slot is only a x4 slot whereas the 1st PCI-E_16 slot is a full x16 slot, so any card in the 2nd slot will only run at x4!!

    So, you have 3 options:

    1. Sell both those 8800GT cards and buy a GTX295.

    2. Sell your Motherboard and buy an SLI supported Board that runs both PCI-E_16 slots at full x16!!

    3. Join the Darkside and buy ATI cards :biggun:

Why piss about with hacked drivers and OS files, just get a board that does it right first time without all that messing about :)

Also, is that Tagan 600w PSU enough for SLI?

because there is no offical sli support for intel chipeset boards before x58? :) and if you find some board with nf200 chip that would support sli on intel board, then considering what other components he have, he is better off upgrading computer totaly :) about PSU, no idea, i had "test" SLI with 2x 8800gt runing with 750W.

Yeah, I have an X58 board (Asus P6T Deluxe V2) that supports both SLI and Crossfire. There is the Single Card SLI solution though, but again, the PSU might be a problem.

One other thing, you also need an SLI Bridge that only comes with SLI Motherboards, so you need one of those as well!!

Well, the point is, I payed 12 € for the second Geforce. It was sold as defect. But I guess when I cook it half an hour at 150 Degree Celsius, it will surely work again.

What a coincidence because Ive been following this mod since before christmas break.

    Check out this thread ---->http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=60844&page=110

That thread is the "official" thread for the mod AND the programmers reply to messages everyday. Although be warned english is not their native language. Can't wait til I get back home from vacation to try this out. (Can you say longest unwanted vaca ever?)

Well if you really dont wanna read the thread,(I also havent read the all 110 pages)... Just check out the last 10 pages out of the 110. Its that simple because since xmas time the authors have been releasing updated methods for patching the sli on intel boards. I mean on page 110 today they released an updated patch for win 7 x64 patched to work with intel and (finally) amd processors. But oh well w/e you've got better things to do ...

Same to me when I first heard it but it seems to work, I know someone in real life who did that and he got the card to work again too!!!

Anyways, I driverhacked my X38 P5E a while ago and it seemed to accept GTX260 in SLI configuration!! since I have a Xilene 700W PSU I didn't try it in-game bc I was afraid my PSU isn't strong enough.

Anyways, afaik X38 or X38 chipsets are the known chipsets to work with the driver patch.

    GL!

600W is more than enough. By the way, look up the term "enthusiast".

You can also get SLI bridges for pennies.
