Hi, I had error when I performed update Intel rst drivers. Now my windows 11 won't boot. I have inaccessible boot device error. I can't boot in safe mode and when I choose command prompt sfc /scannow can't perform successfully. How can I fix this without clean install? Thank you very much for help. I watched few guides already but still I'm unable to fix this.
I need to probably install correct driver from USB drive. I don't know which files I shoud remove because it was setup installer. I don't understand why I can't boot in safe mode.
use command prompt when you are in recovery mode. (if you cant boot into recovery mode somehow than create a bootable windows installation media that matches your windows version or higher.) find the drive that OS installed then delete all folders begins with "iastor" in "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository".. and find the folder that begins with "iaahci.inf" there may be another IntelRST related files begin with iaStor delete them too.. dont touch other files like iaahcic.inf or iaAHCIC.cat.. and RESTART
and then you won't be able to boot anyway because the controller is looking for those. You need to mount the OS in startup repairs recovery console and fully remove the driver references so it falls back to the storahci driver.
this happened to me in past i did what i say exactly above and it booted successfully at least for me...
