You are in the right place. Pull up a stool, have some of out complementary Ambien laced decaf.
What children? If everyone is dead there will be no children. Believe it or not, Human existence is not vital to the operation of this planet, in fact I think natural balance would be restored over time.
Ever watch the History Channel's(maybe it was Discovery, same thing) "After Humans"(or something)? In 50 years most things are reclaimed to a point unrecognizability. Did I just make up a word? Oh well.
also, nice cpu bro ;]
She gets the job done, decrepit though she may be...
No, I haven't, I don't really like those "based on best guesses" documentaries as they're usually wrong or grossly over-emphasised.
I agree, mostly. They used realistic decay suppositions, but there were liberties taken. Twas a fun show though.
Well if we want to do over the environment and future generations, then yes we are on track.
IMO we will have world of peace when we finally found worldwide solutions to the following conflicts:
Nature <-> Industry
Need <-> Property
Privacy <-> Worldwide connection
Silence <-> Realtime communication
Resting <-> Production
Think about it. We are living in a world of conflicts. We are animals yet we're using technology. Now we need to find the right balance, we shouldn't allow technology to make us forget where we came from.
this is the quote that must be put on the wall
We must change the order of man, to change the order of the world!
good one Doctor Gordon House!
No children or offspring...exactly my point.
True, we are not vital to the earth itself. But the destructive side of thinking is not where I align my own thoughts. I hover on the side of making or trying to make things work instead of "Just throw it away, kill everyone...etc".
Cool! I'll meet you there once I'm done picking my scabs. It'll be nice to feel the change consume me.
i think in 2012 the world will become a lot better when it obliterates into oblivion all by itself, don't waste your time lol do it after 2012.. if you're still here.
i wonder if i'll live till 2033, then we all can go to russia and take refuge in the metro networks. :banana:
usually I'd just jump in and give my two cents to threads like these, but I feel there are so many things that just factor in; be it from an economical sense, to a individualistic sense. And even then, you've got scales for each one; the smallest action can unfold into something big. In a way, this melting pot of issues kinda seems... beautiful. All these issues, and the journey for better solutions just makes it worth living for. After all, it's the journey that really comes close to the heart, not the destination.
idd. i should actually -try- to overclock mine after i get dat hot silverstone r02 case. its at 3.4ghz atm with no voltage increases ^^;
Lets get high and fly, hippy style lol
This thread might become very interesting...
*cough cough* Please get back on topic
You guys don't seem to suggest much on how to improve humanity with technology. I guess it's easier to complain than actually do something uh! c1:
it is pretty naiive to think that cloud computing anything to do with technology will be peaceful. there are a lot of folks on this planet that don't even have electricity. some of them might even reject the notion that they should be brought in line with the rest of the world. they will then throw rocks and spears at you when you try to build a powerplant in their village.
tbh the topic is incredibly vague and will vary between different people. I can be a douche and argue overclocking makes the world a better place from my perspective and thus on topic but ya... :3.
Yeah. Broad thread is broad.
