This is the second time I received a 6903 workunit. First in august and a credit of 225~k ppd and the second time 230k. For now I take a brake from big adv, these units(6903,6904) take to much time to complete (4 days and more). But I will be back with more points for the team. Hopefully we will beat team geekdo. Go,go go Guru3D.

A new 6903 project at 93% for me and if you are interested iancook I can break the mystery behind my setup. With just a 1090t overclocked to 4100mhz and with ubuntu 10.10 I can finish this bigbig project that eats 400mb space from my hard.Ubuntu is much faster than windows. Of course I just have 6 cores but if you search the internet how to get 6903 on just 4(8) or 6 cores you will find the answer. With your setup and ubuntu 10.10 you will gain much more points for the team.A little question for you if you don't mind : how many cores it detects when you fold ? If the answer is 12 than it appears strange that you don't receive 6903 projects.

that 'trick' is not supported by stanford if you don't meet the client requirements you should not be running it, 6903,6904 are only ment for 12,12+ not 8 and 8+

You are right but in the same time there are processors with 12 cores(2,2-2,4Ghz) that are slower than new 6-8 cores at higher frequencies(4-5Ghz). The important thing is to complete the projects in time.Stanford decides the time and they will shorten it if they want. And they will do so because they don't have enough projects for all who can do the ,,trick"... not because they necessary have something against those who run these projects on machine with 6-8 cores . In the same time this is just my opinion and it's relativ and I know that if I didn't run these big projects on my 6 core machine maybe I would have had another opinion.
