Brief question: Whats the ideal fan speed/percentage for the 4850 and temperature when playing video games?

    THanks

I Run it at 65% all the time. I idle at 49C, but I have no idea what temps I get while gaming.

What if you...experimented on your own, since it's entirely preference-based. Don't come to a forum just looking for an easy answer so you don't have to try anything. I might want mine at 100%, but then, I might have nice headphones. Or maybe I'm fine with my temperature being 80C, while you would be uncomfortable above 65C. Nevermind the fact that I have no idea how the ventilation is in your case, nor what temperature it is in your room.

Basically, why are you asking everyone else what you prefer?

I manually control mine up to 60% and with the sounds ingame, I don't feel the noise anymore

Have mine about 36%, idle around 56-57, load is around 83 which is perfectly fine.

I have mine at 45% when i'm not gaming and I leave my computer on 24/7. The reason is because 40 or 35 or even lower fan speeds is not quieter in my case.

If I put it up to 50 then I hear it a bit louder but doesn't cool much better. For only 1 degree cooler, i'd rather not hear it at all.

When I am gaming I set it to 70%. It is much louder but I don't really care because the game sounds are loud so I don't even notice it.

At 45% my temps are 55c and while gaming at 70% my temps are around 72c.

That is ok for now until I get a new case with better cooling.

I have an Antec P182 Case, not as well ventilated as a 900 but pretty good. I also have 4 x 120mm BB Fans in the case at Medium Speeds. Having said that I tend to use 30% (Approx 58 Degrees) for Surfing the Web etc... and 50% (Approx 65-69 Degrees) In Game.

Sorry just realized this is for a 4850

    60% Gaming.
45% For some old games that doesn't require that much video card.
    30% Not using 3d applications.
    25% Idle
