How much does a proper soundcard help with fps?

    i said im not gonna bother replying here anymore but im gonna to you, better performance - depends on the game but most have it and BETTER sound quality + extra effects is more then enough to justify the buy.

    If you're happy with crappy sound the so be it and im also talking about lower end SB too with eax2.0-3.0 that includes your sb.

    Yeah, I know. It's just one of those small reasons why the UD5, UD7 and UD9 are (were) a better choice than the UD3 for some customers because otherwise nobody on earth would obviously want to buy an UD5, UD7 or UD9.
    Yes, you're correct. As of Intel 900 series chipsets, the PCI bridge is built into the chipset. It converts PCIe in such way that the OS recognizes it as PCI. However, nowadays there's the PCI Express Native Control feature in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 and later versions of Windows.
