Yes i instal, if something dies, or is incompatable i can always restore to earlier time. However i do ask to be informed before updates though, just coz i like to see what the updates are for.
Yeah I do, but I turn off automatic and just do it myself every week or two. Not done it for a while though (no SP1 etc). But that's because I'm over due a format and need to sort some stuff out first so I can't be bothered to do it when I will need to do it again mid april anyway.
manually on all laptops/desktops/servers/workstations auto update has the worst times to do it half the time when i am actually doing something I could use scheduler but meh
I let Windows notify me when an update is available but I do not let it download updates automatically. So far, there have been only two "important" updates I have chosen not to install and the rest have all been installed pretty much immediately.
Yes, critical security updates manually every Tuesday (auto is disabled). Why you asked, not sure, why I posted, don’t know. :3eyes:
Yes, I do, although I set it up to run manually. I hate it on auto, as when on that setting, and you're in the middle of something and Windows decides to reboot for you....I think you get the point.
Yess, I wasn't the only person that chose No. I haven't updated windows since I reinstalled. I have Background Intelligent Service and Windows update disabled along with many other services. I hate when programs check for updates themselves. I prefer to look myself every few months. Hell I only updated my GPU drivers like twice so far since buying it the day it came out. 99% BSOD free, and no problems with spyware/malware/adware since Win7 RC (even the beta was good). I'm not really worried about security crap, I could care less really. Although I monitor everything thats going on in my system, I'm aware if something doesn't look right like suspicious processes. I look at my processes so much that I can tell which ones I use everyday with all my programs (typically 38-44 processes are open on average). I don't use any anti virus or stuff like. I do however randomly scan once a year with Kaspersky (hey, its free). It usually takes about an hour, but it never finds anything... Then I just continue my life knowing I have a problem free PC.
