I went for budget choice at the moment because I didin't need anything super fancy. My rig can play bioshock at max settings 1280x1024 good.

    I ordered 3800+ x2 for socket 939 E6 stepping ( duh they're hard to find here )

    Two questions.

    - how's the overclocking with this one ?
    - I guess it'll do good for my compuh ?

    Wasn't expensive either. :)

    1) From what I've seen, not that great without a custom cooler. 2 cores produce more heat than one.

    2) Should be noticeably better (even if running slower) at maths jobs like encoding and HDTV decoding.

Maybe not so hot for games.

I'm just GUESSING here. Nobody can really tell until you plug it in and try.

Well I have a zalman cpns9000 so it's goodness... and a watercooling kit with zalman block with 5L of liquid, haven't had time to build and finish it fully.

Mine is a E4 Stepping and so far the max i have been able to OC it is to 2.6GHz. Problem is with mine that if i occupy all 4 slots on the motherboard i can OC it even 100Mhz. Its funny how it reacts.

Hmm it's here... nice idling at 29c time to let it warm up a bit and then to overclocking... suggestions ?

This processor is "golden" ooh. Easilly got 2650Mhz out of it rock-stable. It's enough for now.

    both cores @ Idle ~37c load ~47c

    Congrats......m8.

The thing is that you got a better core. (Toledo) which are supposed to have 1MB cache but have theirs cut for some odd manufacturing reason.

Yeah i've been letting it stretch out a bit for a while between overclocking. Now i'm sitting at 2,8Ghz temps are still the same.
