So how do I go about doing this? a) Take everything apart and ship them in individual boxes? b) Only place the most valuable parts in separate boxes (i.e videocard/cpu w/ large heat sink) while leaving the motherboard/RAM/DVD ROM/PSU/HDD in the case and placed in the original case box? Thanks
Are you taking this machine to another country? I packed my computer in the original carton of the case. Took it to India and back to UAE without incident or damage.
I'd remove the graphics cards, hard drives, heatsink and removable cables, and leave the mobo, PSU, dvd drive, CPU and RAM installed. Then ship the case in its original box and everything else in a separate parcel.
The computer is being sold, I plan on using FedEx and only ship within the continental USA. I've sold computer parts online before just not a whole computer. If I take the whole thing apart I'm concerned if the buyer is a tech-noob.
Yeah my bad, I wanted a different username and instead of getting it changed I just created a new account. Sometimes make the mistake of signing into the old one. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter though anyways as I won't be logging into this site anymore after I sell the computer.
I've shipped many a pc across the continent. On very few occasions have I ever pulled an internal part to ship packed seperately. Pack the inside of the case with brown paper (think newegg packaging) and put the side door screws in a baggie inside. Tell the customer to carefully remove - and call it done. No issues yet, but base is the couch and I call no jinxes.
You ask us for advice, then tell us you will no longer log in here again? Why did you join this site in the first place? Figure out how to ship that PC yourself!!
I won't have a computer to log onto the internet with once it's sold unless I go to a relatives...which I kind of doubt..no need to be rude.
