And does doing so provide much performance boost compared to DX10?

Right-click on Crysis icon in the game browser and choose DX9. Yip, really much faster but without custom config no very high details.

I tried right clicking into dx9 mode and the game looks and runs identical to dx10. Am I doing something wrong? I see no performance boost whatsoever. Does the dx9 performance boost only apply to XP?

Yeah, that's all you do, it actually gave a performance deficit for me.

Seriously. This question has been asked about a bazillion times already. Neither do I own Crysis nor Vista and even I already know that you just have to right click that goddamn icon.
