There's no such thing as ATA-150, except you mean SATA. ATA by itself refers to IDE drives. Also, what operative system are you using?
According to the specifications, your laptop has an IDE drive. To check if Windows is using it at maximum speed, right-click on My Computer --> Device Manager --> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. Right-click on each IDE channel and select Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and check that DMA mode is enabled. Below there's a field saying the current ATA mode.
