I'm not sure if this is a hardware or driver issue. Currently using 12.11 Beta8 drivers. 2-Way CF 7950 and current clocked at 1100/1575. I play starcraft 2, BF3, Assassin's Creed 3, CS: GO, D3, Skyrim. After extensive session in all of these games (at least an hour of play time) my max temps I hit are about 68-70C. I play this garbage Hitman Absolution for about 10 minutes it either "crashes" with a dialog saying it ran out of memory, or it overheats the GPU like a ****h. It hits about 82C after running about 10 minutes, which is ridiculous. All the games I run are on max settings, Hitman I'm only using 4xMSAA instead of 8x.

Up your fan profiles, so that temps do not go over 70-75c

sorted, people rely to much on default fan profiles when running overclocked, worst thing you can do.

What's the point of doing oc when you have an overkill setup? OP's parts at stock speeds can handle any game with good fps.

    82 is overheating?

also.. how about you vsync or cap fps, i assume you're going past your refresh if CF

You can disable this in Catalyst Control Center under 3d settings but the game will launch only on one gpu.
Im using radeon pro and i created a profile with disabled Catalyst AI now its working nice with medium settings

er no, dont disable ai, just disable cf... both RP & CCC can do it (with profiles)

that does remind me of the bf3 beta though, i was running out of ram all the time, CF off i noticed lower ram & PF usage

Same for me with cf 6970

100° for the top vga, 89°for the second vga only with hitman.

82° are fine. Not great but okay. Did you already try to run it on 8x? Sometimes the card will stay cooler when you use high settings because it produces lower framerates.

Also Hitman sucks because it has no framelimiter. My card makes crazy noises in the menu or the cutscenes. Because i get 1500frames(vsync disabled).. Your card is even faster, that may heat it up.

yeah, but I dont usually want to be in the near danger zone when gaming. I prefer to have temps 75C or below. And also due to my custom fan profiles in order to cool the cards, it's loud as hell. fans are running at around 85% at peak. i'll test it out around and see what happens

use radeon pro and a profile to frame limit to your refresh, should bring your temps down.

Put Shadows on High instead of Ultra, there is not a huge difference in quality but the temps go way down.

Some games do indeed heat up a card even at stock.

Sleeping dogs does this with my card.
10degC hotter than any other game I own.

    Options:-
    Run at stock.
Adjust fan profile to reduce the temperatures.
