    in gear 4 ?
current ddr5 cpus can't make good use of ddr5 speeds
you have to use half frequency for 5200/5400 which means ddr4 4000 at 1:1 will outperform it.easily.
now +6000 kits need quarter frequency.

conscious customers will stay away from ddr5 for quite some time.

    What are you talking about?

We are running 6600c28 1t on DDR5 (Hynix) in Gear 2.... This is outperforming ANY DDR4 @4000c14 gear 1 :)

on stock vccsa and vccio I reckon ?
you just put a 6600 c28 kit in the slot and it works in gear 1 mode

doesn't 1600mhz memory controller frequency mean gear 4 mode on 6400mhz sticks ? or did you decide to slam my comment even before reading the news ? If you wanna learn more click the article link you're commenting under.

so the next question would be is it worth the tiny increase in performance given price and availability.

    SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
    First I got 5200CL38
    Then I managed to buy G.Skill 6000CL38
And now this? How many kits do i need to buy to get the best DDR5

This kit has insane OC potential due to low CL and already high speed

If you want to have the best you need to buy new sticks every 2 month, because the next kit that is better then this one, is already on the way to the shops.

I just found this kit here from above, will cost me 730USD with shipping and import tax
Since I haven't yet assembled my PC, i got 6000 kit thinking ill just sell the first one that i got with my CPU the 5200Mhz XPG kit
But Dunno if its smart to throw 730$ at it now, maybe if i wait, by summer they will have even faster kits and its not like what i have GSKILL RGB 6000/CL38 is trash
On the otehr hand its CL36 6400Mhz i bet it can OC to 7000Mhz

    1600mhz means memorybus is @ 3200 AKA Gear 2.

    I wrote 6400c28 1T, in gear 2.
    1T isn't gear 2 LOL

Does the 12900k even scale that high in any workload?
I am having a hard time understanding the prices, I can buy a G.Skill Trident Z Royal Series DDR4 2 x 32 GB 4400 MHz CL19 kit for that kind of money and still have money left over for 2 date nights.
The only thing I am missing is the date.

If the next Intel HEDT platform has 4 channel DDR5, this 730$ memory kit is going to be smashed by 4 sticks, that cost the half of this kit.

Pretty much every Hynix ddr5 with unlocked pmic is going to be "the best" for atleast 2 years :) 7000mhz+ with good enough cooling with 2 slot MB :)
    Apex, Kingpin, Unify X etc...

...and tight timings with a bit "lower" speed is possible ;)
Like my friend Carillo is running now:

    Still Gear 2

    DDR5 doesn't support gear 1 :)

Yeah, actually based on bencnmarks in OC DDR5 you see good results in system benchmarks and games that love fast ram, basically you only see benefit from DDR5 when you say cross 6000mhz and go higher

Since you been O.C DDR5, do you think this 6400/32 is Samsung or Hynix?
So far Gskill went with samsung.

P.S. BTW hows Samsung 6000/38 overclocking potential? What can i expect if i stay with my old kit?

    It is Hynix :)

My 5600c36, 6000c40 and 6000c36 is samsung. 6400c32 is confirmed Hynix.

    G.skill 6400c32 xmp cpu-z.jpg

Samsung taps out about ~6400mhz with abit "loose" timings, like c36. Still hard to get memtest stable. Pretty good, but still "far" behind Hynix.

my ADATA 32GB (2x16GB) 5200MHz CL38 XPG Lancer is running at 4800 CL 40 which is the fastest i could reach stable, nothing above that works not even at 1.4V

I have such kit sealed, its Micron, all cheap DDR5 [not all but 98%] is Micron, if you buy 5200 or lower its 98% Micron. BUT it should work fine at rated speed, even slight OC [I can send you an article with OC settings]

With DDR5 many boards have had such issue but most if not all received bios updates with ram fixes, Gigabyte had the WORST compatibility among all [I have master z690] , but they already released 4 bioses, so everything is fixed, if you still on OG bios no matter whos the board maker, get updated

So is it a good investment? will it OC? Im still considering, if i buy it ill have to sell two new kits that i have XPG 5200 and Gskill RGB 6000/36
Do you know about any people on that forum with such kits?

i tested 2 latest bioses beta and normal for my gigabyte board and all the solutions online point me that this modules work only with some hi-end msi

    its the AX5U5200C3816G-DCLABK
if u have something better im waiting
