High clock on system?

    Hey just wondering why i get this and how do i change it. oh and i get a another problem of my pc freezing and having to press the reset button when in games, just doesnt do anything. on a 290 graphics card,

    in my System im getting 5.8ghz when my overclock is at 4.4

    and in task manager im getting 7.2ghz

    why is it doing this?

    its simple really....is it the gpu or the cpu thats unstable? under clock the gpu and test. lower the oc on the cpu until its stable. you have to figure that out first

    Use a program like CPU-Z to see clocks. Task manager and system properties lie.

    Could also be bad/wrong microcode I think.

    Check if there are BIOS updates for your motherboard.

    Are you using windows 10 ? Because task manager is broken when reporting CPU frequency.
    I have the same issue, CPU at 4.8 ghz and it's reporting 8,3ghz in task manager and 5,9ghz in device manager/
