    Hi guys i need help installing good drivers on my Geforce gtx 285, i was wondering if theres any better ones then the current one on nvidia website.

    actually you have the latest whql'ed but the 258.96 are the best by far and work with everything.

    I have the 260.99 and they cause BF2 Bad company 2 to Blue screen.

    265.xx quadro drivers from the first page of this forum are working fine here, though I don't play as much BF2BC2 as I used to. L4D2, UT2k4 (smattering of UT3) and single player games occupy me for the most part. I also use my 285 with video and graphics apps and these drivers seem plenty stable, but I don't OC and I run my GPU fan on a custom speed during gaming (75% or so) just to keep overall system temps down as I have fd-dimms & 6hd's.

    i had an old 8800 gt sli and getting the nvidia updated drivers made me crash alot until i got a driver from here and it stopped the crashing, thanks for the info seven ill check it out in abit

    I mostly play Black Ops but been noticing some unusual lag on that game, i usually play with 30 ping and about 70 fps so im starting to think its not me but anyways ill try the driver ill edit and see how it goes

    lagometer helps u see if its u or network lag

    lagometer is inbuild to quake engine and should be found in cfg

    Ah black ops might be a different case, new games tend to require fixes in game specific profiles, either by nvidia or sometimes by setting things by hand (until they're patched) like LOD filtering options and etc. Unfortunately I don't play Black Ops and the engine is an older one so bugs are a possibility for sure.
