hi can we disable hdd in win 10 and enabling it by using short cut, tks
you want it to power off and turn on with a double click ?
yes, preferably saved into next boot, thanks
You can hide a partition on drive by removing assigned letter. And unhide by assigning letter back.
thanks for response, i used to enable / disable using bios sata setting, since iam using h10 optane 32+512gb if i disable @ bios it would turn off isrt settings also it can be per hdd enable or disable, but if there's shortcut/program to enable disable hdd @ os it would be nice, and seems it would be less burden on overall cpu, os & electric consumption if there's way to enable / disable sata or hdd in os level
You could try and create a powershell script that sets a specific drive offline.
Would that get your desired result? You could try manually in Disk Management first. I think the overall system performance gain will amount to about zero though.
Disable Indexing of the specific drive....your drive should stay quiet until you actually call upon it, and you won't need to unmount/remount it manually.
thanks, did that too & did able to manualy disable per drive
And set the powerplan to put it idle after x minutes as well, check your indexing options to make sure that Windows Search doesn't have any links to the drive in question and disable the defragmentation schedule for the drive.
