That`s one of top bands during my school days. We were dancing like crazy to its hits.
That needs 10 likes!
i was laughing my tits off at 1st, like some funky cross between abba and boney m, then i saw the 2 girls
Not only that. Most of their songs are in German actually!
But of course we have never seen the band (even pictures, not to mention performing), because the only top level pop band giving concerts in USSR was Boney M.
PS Not many songs from ABBA you can dance like crazy, but Boney M were in game too!
Here is some footage of their visit
And on the album the "Rasputin" song is played right after this one (without a pause)
thank you @mbk1969
Btw, @386SX can you tell me what do they sing about (in short)?
@mbk1969 It's a song about Moscow, "far away and mysterious" (as they sing) but all in all a song to promote Moscow.
wirf die Gläser an die Wand,
Russland ist ein schönes Land.
throw the glasses against the wall (1)
Russia is a nice country.)
(1) This phrase doesn't mean anything with riots or the like. It's more like when you party and freak out, "flipping the table" and start to "party hard". At least from what I can tell....
Thank you. You can imagine what speculations we had about the lyrics back then.
To throw glasses at the wall - after you drank the vodka or wine - is a tradition at the weddings and/or at any drunk gatherings just out of courage. All Slavs do that.
Slaves or Slavs?
Suppressed people or Slavonic people?
