Not sure if the video's title would be appropriate, since he doesn't really destroy a scientist there, but I love Dave Chapelle, one of the greatest of our times. Controversial figure though for some.
That's incredible indeed. THIS is why we need research, not to order catfood online with only a thought, or pay for my ice cream swiping my butt over the counter (yes I am exaggerating). Just today I saw a guy on TV who thinks he's so very smart to have 3 RFID / NFC chips inside his hands (2 left 1 right) and soon getting the 4th... because one's for locks at his work place (he got his own company), another one's the personal ID, third is to pay like he does with apple / google pay, and the 4th he will get is the fitness center's chip matching his member card. Good luck ever working at a place that you don't own (no chip entry), you live by rent (no right to change the lock to match any electronical entry), go to a place where the chip doesn't work (he was at an ice cream stand where the reader just couldn't read his in hand chip, but his phone's chip to pay with), and never change the fitness center. Oh and yeah, he probably saved himself from the horrors of having a wallet. and putting a single key into his pocket. [edit after @mbk1969 placed his like] And if it works anything like those chips they put into our pet's bodies to monitor and identify them, they might just stop working at any time. My best friend's dog's stopped after 2 years, and they're actually meant to last a pet's lifetime (10+ years). And since they couldn't find the other one, they just put another one in. Just saying. I'd much rather have them improve body / machine interfaces for people who need it rather than luxury and "fun gadgets"
I wonder when we're finally in the Cyberpunk era..... hacking cyber bodyparts via smartphone doesnt seem too far off.
Yeah, I am a like slut (pun intended)! (But actually IDGAF to likes, I just like to share interesting stuff with gurus.)
From times when at least some things were how they supposed to be PS When MTV came to USSR in late 80s we saw many artists for the first time (while knowing their records by heart).
I ... thought about not posting this to save your mental health, but ... https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/17434440.2018.1483235 https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/ielx5/2/5551033/05551041.pdf?tp=&arnumber=5551041&isnumber=5551033 https://etactics.com/blog/why-hackers-exploit-implantable-medical-devices
Oh damn. Thx mate, i was just expecting .... you know, more smoke & electric lightnings flying everywhere like in Cyberpunk. bit more dramatic
It's a bit scary, although I definitely can imagine manufacturers soon charging extra for security. Because they saw the need and are trying to make profit on it. Right? Right?
Well if you crank up the voltage on that pacemaker just high enough, maybe sparks will fly. This one is REALLY scary: https://www.sciencefriday.com/segments/bionic-eye-tech-startup-patients/ "Beep, beep, beep" and everything turns black.
