I would go BFG or eVGA, but only because XFX's Tech support sucks......

I traded my X800XT PE for the XFX 6800GT with NV5 cooler and flashed with a Gainward Golden Sample bios to get the extra 0.1v in 3D mode, will run 440/1160 all day with no issues, temperature or otherwise. very pleased with it.

Cant comment on tech support etc as have never (and would never) use it myself.

All 3 makes are decent tho. :)

I love my evga - runs at ultra without breaking a sweat and nice and quiet. I've run it for hours and haven't got past 54 degrees with stock cooling.

Been running a Galaxy Glacier 6800 GT for about 3 months now and had no probs whatsoever with it. Will run at 1100/400 without breaking into a sweat.
The only pain is the size of it, can be a tight squeeze fitting it on some motherboards.

eVGA, BFG and check out Leadtek. All three are very good card manufacturers. eVGA may still offer the 6 month upgrade plan. Let you trade up to an ultra for just the price difference of the 2 cards within 6 months of purchase. eVGA & BFG also used to give either FarCry or Doom3 as bundled games. From reading posrs, all 3 can be overclocked to the limits you described.

Sweet! I can get a Galaxy Glacier 6800 GT this Monday or eVGA on Thursday...still not sure. It seems the eVGA 6800 GT would be cheaper though but my case has no fans or anything, jsut 4 rows of vents on 1 side :(

So still leaning towards Galaxy Glacier, especially for the Australian Summer getting temperatures of up to 40 degrees+ celcius in certain days...fortunately those days don't appear too often of a few times this summer has been like that. I have AC at home and vents point pretty much to back of PC from roof. Not a great amount of air get s to it though so yeah...

    Still undecisive :S

    thanks for replies...

I have the XFX 6800 GT, which is very overclockable.

I'd personally go for the Galaxy Glacier. But then I'm biased.

I bought a XFX 6800GT and I can overclock to 440/1200 no problem with 1.4 volts. Its a really reliable card at those speeds. The only problem is the bundle sucks if thats what your looking for.
