Hi eveyone. I bought an msi r9 280x gpu on ebay! Now when i install i get no ouput from hdmi or any other port. Also no heat ouput. Motherboard bios dosent even detect the 280x? Fans do spin thou! Ive tried all pcie slots still nothing!. Ive bought a gtx 220 as a tester that is working fine! So its no my motherboard. Was thinking psu??? My psu is ELEMENT high power 750 watts on the 12v rail it has 56.25 amps! So i assume thats more than enough?? Cheap psu?? Specs are... msi gaming 5 mb core i5 4670 kingston 240gb ssd avexir 1600mhz ram msi r9 280x!! psu is ELEMENT high power 750 wat corsair carbide air 540 Rumning w8.1 Any help much appreciated thx
I hate to post the obvious, but you did hook up the extra cables cable to the card from the PSU, right?
just relised that with the gtx 220 its not got any pcie connections so cannot say if its the 280x. yer gonna see if I can find someone with a pc
If the fans are working and its pushed into the board all the way and the power connectors are plugged in all the way then I would say the card might be done, I dont like buying from ebay for this reason. If you can test in another computer definitely do that, If it still wont show in bios then you are SOL saddly since you most likely dont have a warrenty.
Pcie cables are all pushed in so im assuming card is dead. But seller has agreed for me to return and refund me! So all is gd.
