I have had my x-fi xtremegamer for quite a while now, and it has worked with no issues. However I want a new card that is capable of decoding 5.1 (such as plugging an xbox 360/ps3 into it). However I am having trouble finding one that can do such a thing, usually the ones I find can encode 5.1 but only decode 2.1. Any suggestions? Preferably under $100? Also needs to be able to hook 5.1 up to it via analog inputs.
yes, and i forgot to update this thread because i did some more research and it really isn't possible for 5.1 digital -> 5.1 analog on a PC due to hardware manufacturers.
There were only a few cards that allowed digital decoding and I am pretty sure most of them had the feature removed in Vista due to DRM. If you did get one to work using older OS etc...you would still have to deal with signal latency.
if you have the old design, then you need the composite cable in order to have optical out. If you have the new XBOX 360 S then it's built right into the box. deltatux
