Title says it all. Just installed my new 1080 ti with my new display port cable and no matter what I try I can't get the monitor or the nvidia settings to run at 144hz. This is the first time I have used display port but don't see any way of getting it to run in 144hz. Any ideas?

I have a 144hz AOC G2460P monitor, could it be that this monitor does not support 144hz with display port?

Well first suggestion would be - did you try a different cable? Perhaps you have DP 1.1 cable? try DP 1.2+

Go to display properties in windows not nvidia control panel.
Make sure you're not using a cheap DP cable or confused DP with hdmi cable.

You don't use that on native screens that support high hz

Might just be a busted card. But before that do a clean nvidia driver install. Launch install and choose custom install and then a tick in clean install. Give her a go.

I hear DP is more often buggy with Nvidia cards. Try DVI-DL cable or HDMI 2.0 (if monitor has it).

Sorry but that statement sounds really weird. I've used DP with four different screens and it's always worked.

Thanks for all the help guys. Turns out the 144hz monitor is only able to do 60hz in DP? Had to phone the company AOC and even they has to get a manual out. The model is AOC G2460PQU so I have a brand new ultra wide 34" 144hz IPS screen coming tomorrow. Sooo excitied.

Freesync monitors are notorious for not running at advertised frequency when paired with nvidia cards.

Not all mind you but I've read a few time on the internet about freesync monitors locking at 60Hz with Intel or Nvidia GPU's.

If this one craps out I'll get that one but bit more money.

Why seem like you have no clue what monitor you actually want. You have Nvidia cards, get Gsync. As Mike suggested above, PG279Q will be a perfect choice.
