They've uploaded more dev diaries and their E3 Trailer went online today.

The E3 trailer doesn't really do much for me. What really, really impressed me was seeing their Development Diary 10. Their ingenuity for motion capture on a budget and being a dev team of just 13 people is damn impressive.

This is the first game I know of that has main character suffering from the effects of a mental health illness. It's even back by the Wellbeing mental health charity.

You might be thinking of Unseen Ninja Theory: Razer. That was cancelled, or never made it in to production.

    It's not released yet xD

It looks like it will be released this year, but I can't find any specific date.

    Damn that was cool!

Btw I read an interview of Ninja Theory devs about Hellblade once and they insisted this game has "nothing to do with Heavenly Sword".

LOLS, first of all the name and anyone who has Heavenly Sword needs only load it up and look at the menu screen background. Even the setting (shown in the trailer) is almost identical.
    Stone effigies and whatnot.

Not that it matters, but this is clearly Heavenly Sword 2 in a disguise.

It's so cool that they do these dev diaries... it's interesting to see how they create stuff.

I don't think so? It doesn't look like it when looking at the concept art, Tsutomu Nihei's style is very different.

Love the trailer, love the fact it's a small independent team. Looking forward to this game.

"we had 'voice-hearers' in to experience the game" - You mean sick people?

I don't care what that dude with the thing over his eye said, that's kinda messed up. I know they said there were experts and they had actors and all, but my thoughts immediately went to those individuals they brought in who had may have only had the very slightest of actual diagnosed illness. It does not sit well with me.

Schizophrenia (alongside being buried alive), is probably one of my biggest fears in this world. To lose the ability to distinguish what's real in your every waking hour is just... I can't even talk about it. It's overwhelming to me.

I know, I know, this is just for a game and they didn't really hurt anyone. And it looks like it will be a successful game to boot. And I have no elevated knowledge about the disease, just basic information about it. I just have a problem when I think about those people who went home after this, and maybe they weren't affected, didn't even remember it, but are one of the unfortunate victims of this horrifying (to me) condition and who will at some point start having problems. It's just extremely discomforting.

Calling them "sick people" is actually far more offensive then anything they did in the video.
Most people who hear voices are aware of it, accept it... and do the most they can to share information on it and let people know what it's really like.

But, they do not like to be referred to as "sick". That will upset them more then anything.
And being involved in a project like this. Were they can use what they've lived with in a creative way... is actually empowering for them.

IMO they should have referred to them as "people who suffer from mental disorders" or something in that vein.

"Voice-hearer" sounds very contemptuous to me. Same as calling a cancer patient "cell-grower".
