So i hope my english is enough to describe what i want, here we go So first my setup: Connected a LG 1080p TV as my primary display via dvi port on my gtx 970>dvi to hdmi adapter >1 meter hdmi cable> TV Connected a Panasonic 4k w704 as secondary display via hmdi port on my gtx 970> 15 meter(!) hdmi cable> TV 1. Sooo on my primary display a tool called moninfo from entech reads 160 MHz video bandwich, i could choose 1080p, RGB/full, 8bit in nvidia control center max, no 10 bit or 12 bit option and that all with 60hz 2. On my secondary this tool reports 600MHz video bandwich on default tv settings, i could choose 2160p, RGB/full, 12bits in nvidia control center also 10bit and 8bit options where 10bit not stick but 8 and 12. BUT i get only an image on TV if i choose ycbcr 4:2:0/limited 8bit with 60hz 2.1 Also i could choose on my TV hmdi mode 1 (instead of 2 default) and the tools (Moninfo) reads the display with 300MHz video bandwich, i could choose 2160p, ycbcr 4:2:0/limited 8 or 12 bit with 60Hz i think that are hmdi 1.4a specs. So and here are my questions: 1.My primary also supports deep color even this is irrelevant in most games would a display port to hmdi adapter raise the bandwich to make 10 or 12 bit color depth possible? and 2. I know 15 meter cable is the problem on my setup to not get rgb 4k 60hz, BUT what will help? My cable is not cheap its 3x shielded also but sites like burosch . de wrote they havent find a cable over 4 meters that work with full hmdi2.0 specs. So is there any solution to amplify the hdmi signal, there are some cables, repeaters, aktive and passive on amazon but there is only written 2160p 30Hz max or similar. Or is there realy a cable that is good enough for 15 meters with all its full 18gb/s? Ok i hope u understand me, thank you in advantage!
Try checking the GPU's control panel. If the TV had a display port connector you probably wouldn't be having a problem. Long story short, I connected the rig to my flagship Sony 4K downstairs and the max resolution I could get was 1080p. After mucking around in nvidia control panel I got 2560x1440. To add, I don't think the new UHDTV's for 2016 release will have display port connectors either. The only TV manufacturer to cater to us PC gamers was Panasonic. Even then they realized they made a good product and decided to butt **** us on any new TV's they released. - TeKK
test connect to tv to hdmi direct no dvi adapter dvi adapter to hdmi probably is limited to hdmi 1.4a DVI is the problem in your case. if your vga not contain regular hdmi using this adapter, microhdmi to normal regular HDMI, this adapter keeps hdmi to version 2.0.
