    Hello All,

    I have the following specs:

    Asus Sabertooth 990fx 2.0 mainboard
    AMD FX-8350 CPU
    Corsair Vengeance memory 8GB@1600MHz
    Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB Windforce 3x GPU
    Any regular DVD burner
    Corsair 650W PSU

This is mainly a gaming rig so which HDD should I buy ? I'm not interested in SSDs. I wana get a 500GB drive either by Seagate or WD. Which would be best suited for a gaming rig ? Thank you in advance...

Before switching completely over to SSD, I always had excellent performance and reliability with WD’s Raptor and Black series... so those would be my recommendations.

    I don't know your budget...

If money allows, you could get a 120-128 gig ssd for a fairly reasonable price.
(I know you said you didn't want one)

And you can use your 500 gig mechanical hard drive for music/video's....

Read a little bit on them, In my honest opinion it is the best performance for the buck you can do, looking at your current parts.

every rig needs an ssd.. easily the most noticeable upgrade.

I agree with Agent it is the most perceivable increase in speed wou will get. But if you want to still go HDD iirc larger drives say 2TB tend to be faster than the smaller ones and I have always had good luck with the WD blacks.
