I need help, I'm having a week ago and did not think this problem solution.
Any game I try to play, sometimes hours or minutes later, the video stops working and a black screen, sometimes with gray stripes can still hear people talking in TS and even talk with him but the keyboard does not work, the mouse does not works and you need to hit the reset button on the case.

    my config:
    Rampage IV Extreme
    i7 3930 3.2
    32 gb corsair Ram vegeance

    Temperatures are all normal,
Memories were all tested and no errors were found,
I changed the video card to another PCIE slot,
Installation of windows 7 x64 clean
I tried all the current drivers and I'm using driver 12.11 beta 11

    please help me out.

GPU memory Overclocked to far usually causes gray stripe screen. If you haven't overclocked i'd look into a RMA.

both my 5770 / 7850 have done this when my memory is overclocked to far.

You could try 100% Fan speed while gamin' might help cool things if you haven't touched overclocking

though with auto fan speed memory should not overheat @ stock settings so it makes me think your GPU memory could be faulty.

the video card is in stock, nothing has been tweaked. Sometimes I can play for hours without problems and sometimes appears.
I think the problem with the driver and or PCIe.
Really do not know what to do and RMA would be the last chance to do there.
I want to first know what is happening, before replacing the motherboard for this all worked.
    wore a rampage 3 extreme.

try decrease gpu video memory frequency that cause color strip and black screen reason gpu core well aired and memory from other company not have special air so got to hot and it happen in certain games more that others or if you open youtube with games happen too much use amd gpu tool or u suggest you msi after burner he down clock and always applied automatically without problems
decrease about 100 150 mhz until you find the best formula and no more crashes and colors strip :)

We are all waiting for a fix to be released by AMD. My system has been crashing since i installed my 7870. In the first few weeks it crashed alot but now i rarely crash. Yesterday it happend again but it was weeks ago since the last crash. Sometimes it crashes twice a day and then i get 2 months no problems. I really hope amd will fix this soon cause its pissing me off.

I have the same card as you and same architecture as you, mine has memory 0 OC but the gpu is oced to 1ghz (by me)
So far i dont really think i ever noticed such issue with mine, i would indeed suggest you to give it to rma asap, i know it sucks but i seriously doubt it has anything to do with drivers.
People these days tend to blame everything on drivers, dont fall for it.

I Have the exact same issue my hd 7970 ghz edition 3gb by sapphire (OC'd by me) sometimes in games even after hours of playing i get grey stripes on my screen sound keeps playing for a couple of seconds and then i need to restart my pc frome the case. this is the same problem 100% and i think it's eather because of the oc i did (memory) or a driver (12.11BETA11) . i'll try and lower the memory clock as im sure it will fix this issue . thanks for the replies, and thread creator :D

it's a strange issue the stripe screen

When my GPU memory is at 1300/1250 I can play BF3 just fine, But league of legends causes this screen within minutes at 1300, lasts bit longer at 1250 but still happens.

so left stock memory for now, Maybe AMD haven't fixed their drivers seen as tho the new 7000 series cards have different memory controllers afaik. maybe you have a dodgy card since all is stock.

remedy, yes if you have overclocked memory try putting it back to stock and get back how you get on.

I had the same videocard(7970 DCU II TOP) and the same problems. The stripes are caused by Mozilla. Go to Options-Advanced and unchek "Use hardware acceleration when available".

Did you make sure VRM temps were also fine, or did you only check GPU temp?

i solve my problem, dont know why but, disable Turbo mode in BIOS and now can play all games without crash, freeze or black screen.

now my I7 3930 running at 3.2 when u change to turbo mode they go to 3.8.

is you guys have a explanation for this problem and why turn off turbo mode?
