If you aren't using one - go away! Really; if you don't have one, how can you comment on its value, etc. ;)
I think, this is AMD's best card yet. It OC's like a champ and can handle ANYTHING! At ~$300...I almost feel as if I'm taking advantage...just kidding - but, what a great price for (arguably) the best card around. ;)
    1. Do you think the price is reasonable?
    2. Are you happy with the performance of the card?
    3. Are you glad you made the decision to purchase this card?
    4. Are you planning on Xfire? It'll take a BIGGER PSU!
    5. Did this card meet or exceed your expectations?
    6. Do you think you'll keep this card for more than 6 months?
    7. Any regrets about your purchase?

    had a 7800gtx witch replaced my 6800gt
the 6800gt was at the time a good card
the upgrade to a 7800gtx always left a bitter taste
sold my 6800gt to be able to run cod2 in dx9 gues what , the 7800gtx could not handle it
still i held on to it till the 3870x2 and that is now replaced with a 4870
i could not be more happy
massive performance for a price that isn't ruining your bank$$$
i truly hope this trend is continued
also i was afraid of the horror stories about ati drivers , so far i haven't had real isues witch haven't been my own fault

Absolutely no regrets so far, Crossfire is not an option on my board, but with the upcoming X2 Crossfire won't be needed anyway. Only thing I'm waiting for is a new set of drivers.

It's good, but with tax and shipping it cost me £200 in the UK, which is equivalent to $400. No doubt when the 4870x2 2GB is released, I'll have reason to be angry, because the price of the normal 4870 will probably be reduced substantially (as usual).

eRa, I noticed you switched from a GTX 280, how do you compare the two cards in usage, performance, image quality, etc?

(Sorry, not a 4870 owner, but interested.) :)

Yes, good price for the performance.

Yes, good performance - especially for the price ;)

Yes. People say "you should wait for the x2" well i wouldnt have had the money (its double the price) and if i saved the money I did have while waiting, well i would have just spent it on something else = no 4870 for me

Later when the price falls further. 1 is good enough for me at the moment.

Yes, and with newer drivers hopefully it will just keep on getting better.

    Yes.

    No.

    1. Do you think the price is reasonable?
Yes, if the card worked well out of the box which it doesn't, Catalyst 8.6, 8.6 hotfix and 8.7 all crash my PC (BSOD/hard lock/restart)

    2. Are you happy with the performance of the card?
    Yes, when it works

    3. Are you glad you made the decision to purchase this card?
    No

    4. Are you planning on Xfire? It'll take a BIGGER PSU!
No, Green team for me this time GTX 280 is 2 times more expensive but at least they work out of the box without stupid tweaks. And its single card solution is just as good as the duel card and uses less power.

    5. Did this card meet or exceed your expectations?
No, failed in many ways, I had high hope this would be a great value for money card but clearly not. Since it takes more time to work out what is causing BSOD. Cumbersome fan control so it doesn't over heat...seriously... wtf hopeless...what is the F**KING point of releasing a card that will over heat by so much and locking the fan speed to some seriously low amount. I also tried that thing where you create a FanSpeed Profile...seems to have nil effect for me.

    6. Do you think you'll keep this card for more than 6 months?
No, its going into my bin very soon, I hate this piece of SH*T. Unless, I get some stability out of this card.

    7. Any regrets about your purchase?
Yes, I should have just got the GTX 280 off the bat.

Other notes: So you understand that the PC itself is not because my PSU is low (watts or amps) or anything dumb like that.

    Relevant Information
    Case : COSMOS RC-1000
    PSU : 1000W from Coolmaster
    Mobo: ASUS P5Q-E
    RAM: 4GB Kingston DDR2-800
    GFX card: Sapphire HD 4870
    OS:Vista 64 Ulitmate

I wished this worked well but it doesn't. If I got this work it would have been a great buy. I am hoping that official driver 8.7 will fix some of these problems. 3rd Party tools or custom profiles to fix heat/fan issues is not a good answer.

Hell ya. Saved me money , I was planned to spend 400. Now only 329
    2. Are you happy with the performance of the card?
    Awesome performanace
    3. Are you glad you made the decision to purchase this card?
I glad I got it right away
    4. Are you planning on Xfire? It'll take a BIGGER PSU!
Running on crossfireX, I will need a bigger moniter, bigger power bill, bigger wallet.
    5. Did this card meet or exceed your expectations?
    Yes
    6. Do you think you'll keep this card for more than 6 months?
ATI wont be releasing a new-gen for a year. so I guess most of us will. Unless u
    trade for X2.
    7. Any regrets about your purchase?
    Absolutely None

So far so good. I just switched from EVGA 8800GTS 320GB to this monster. Had to add the second PCI-E power cable to my Corsair 620HX PSU to power the bad boy, but no problems here. Everything went off with out a hitch. Deleted Nvidia drivers, driver sweeper used, and latest Cat 8.6 installed. Maybe one day I'll even upgrade my CPU to a quad Phenom when the price comes down. Having a blast at 1680x1020.

Awesome card, exceeded my expectation when it ran crysis beautifuly with everything very high except shaders and shadows on high.
any other game is simply a joke for this card to run...

only problem is heat, but they all (4850, 260, 280) suffer from excess heat so it's not something to cry about.

all in all, i got more than i wished for for my money!
