    Hy Thanks to the info on this forum I have my HD3870 softmodded to a fireGL V7700. I used the 8.453 driver and used XP 32bit, this gave a reasonable performance gain;

    specviewperf 10:

    maya: geometric mean 220
    SW: geometric mean 76

Now that I have XP-X64 again, I have modded the fireGL 8.453 driver the choko way and modified it for the hd3870 - V7700.

The gain of the x64 supprized me :)
    specviewperf 10:

    maya: geometric mean 265
    SW: geometric mean 98.5

What would be the reason of this gain? the better performance of the overall x64 based system, or because I can now use all my 4Gigs of ram.

    I have the following system:
    P35 mobo
    Q6600 @3GHz
    4Gb 667 ram
(2x) ASUS HD3870's (1 currently removed since CF doesn't work on fireGL)

Unfortunatelty crossfire is disabled as soon as the fireGL drivers are installed.
Too bad, since I have 2 hd3870's and am curious about crossfire - workstation performance.

Or does anyone have a trick to enable crossfire with 2 softmodded hd3870's?

Can you send me the working inf and patch.rts files please?

I could not get beyond 8.44 driver no matter what I did on HD 3850.

    I would be grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hi!

Please can you post also run the Catia Benchmark? And how big is the performance gain from single card to crossfire?

    Thanks
