ok, well i came across some spare parts and wanted to upgrade my HDD storage.

yes there regular HD no SSD, I got them for practically nothing. Im upgrading from 2x 500gb WD Green 5400rpm RAID0

    2x 250gb WD Blue 8mb cache 7200rpm 3.0
    1x 500gb Seagate 16mb cache 7200rpm 6.0
    1x 320gb WD Raptor 16mb cache 10Krpm 3.0

i was thinking of setting up the Raptor as the main HD. (windows & apps) then RAID0 the 2x 250gb WD Blue (GAMES) and the Seagate as backup.

    Completely agree with eclap’s comment...

and, if these were the drives I had to work with, I’d set them up as you have suggested.

    Another option would be:

    Raptor OS\Apps
    Seagate for Games
2x Blues for Storage but in RAID 1, if you didn’t need double the capacity... Blues aren’t the best for RAID setups.

I don't use normal drives whatsoever anymore, it's a grand thing.
