Curious if any of you guys would make some reccomendations? I am wanting to use my desktop to be able to run Blu Ray on the plasma. It is a 42". A couple people mentioned it takes a high end pc to be able to run them? I would also like to do this without having to move the computer, is there a way to do this wireless? If not, wouldnt I lose quality having to run a 30-40ft cable? See my specs to the side.
Your 8800GT will, quite nicely, produce 1920x 1080 movies. You will need a better quality DVI to HDMI adapter(http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10419&cs_id=1041902&p_id=2081&seq=1&format=2) and an HDMI cable(http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10240&cs_id=1024001&p_id=3657&seq=1&format=2), or a good quality Dual Link DVI cable (better shielding for the long run http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10209&cs_id=1020901&p_id=2788&seq=1&format=2). The shortest run would be best as you will have some signal drop off over 20 ft. The LG GGC-H20L is a good BR player that can write DVD's and CD's, and is around $130.
